                                                                   Emily Griffith Technical college

                                                    (Mechanics on Automotives services)

-Our Automotive Service program prepares students to work in the automotive repair industry. Students are educated both in theory and hands-on applications covering all eight Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) topics. Our program is designed to develop job-ready, entry-level technicians who are prepared to enter the repair field. Emily Griffith Technical College follows ASE guidelines for each subject.

-Our program takes a hands-on approach to education. Students have the opportunity to work on school vehicles, taking them apart and putting them back together as they would in a repair facility. Teams are limited to approximately 3 or 4 students to ensure everyone gets to participate.

-After completing the program, students have the opportunity to earn 8 individual certificates—one for each ASE subject:

  • Electrical/Electronics

  • Brakes

  • Steering and Suspension

  • Engine Repair

  • Automatic Transmissions

  • Manual Transmissions and Axles

  • Heating and Air Conditioning

  • Engine Performance

-Students also have the opportunity to earn an Automotive Technology Certificate which verifies that they have completed and passed all eight of the ASE Topics.
